Festivals, Athletics and the London 2012 leadership event
55 KS1 pupils, from Heasandford, Casterton, St James, Barden and Briercliffe took part in the Multi-skills festival. All the pupils had a great time playing Chain Gang, treasure Chest and then doing an Obstacle course; all the events showed how their skills had improved during the multi-skills club held at each school.
The SJT Sportshall Athletics event was held for the first time at the new SJT Sportshall. It was a very close competition with Heasandford emerging asthe winners at the end - but only by 4 points from St James!
8 Year9 pupils from Sir John Thursby attended the London 2012 Leadership event - the high point of which was meeting and talking to an olympic medallist in cycling. The group of pupils are now planning to organise events at their school in the summer of 2010.
