On Monday the 16th of November Burnley School Sport Partnership joined forces with Pendle Partnership and Community Rugby Coach Elaine Vassie to deliver the first ever Inter-partnership Year 5 & 6 Tag Rugby Festival.

St Joseph’s, Wellfield, St Mary’s and St John’s Cliviger qualified for this event from finishing in the top four schools at the recent Burnley District Youth Games Qualifier.

They competed against four other schools from the Pendle Partnership at Colne leisure centre on Monday 16th November. The competition gave those schools that came close to qualifying for the Lancashire Youth Games an additional stage of competition whilst giving St Joseph’s plenty of match practice before they go forward to represent Burnley in the Lancashire Youth Games.

Overall the competition was a resounding success and something that both partnerships are keen to make into an annual event.
