Burnley School Sport Partnership have been busy appointing a cohort of Silver Young Ambassador’s. The Silver Ambassador’s provide a new tier to the already well established gold ambassador programme that runs across our town.
The silver ambassador’s will support Lucy and Marsha, Burnley’s two Gold Young Ambassador’s in championing the Olympic and Paralympic values and will work within their own high school to promote and inspire more young people to take part in sport and physical activity.
Each high school across Burnley appointed two Silver Ambassador’s and Tuesday 1st December saw the Silver Ambassador’s attended a mini-conference to find out more about their role. Local Sporting Hero Craig Heap and past Gold Ambassador James Hardy led the conference and provided the ambassador’s with their tales of sporting success. In addition to this the ambassador’s were given the chance to contribute to the new sport and physical activity strategy by providing their own thoughts on what the sporting landscape of our town should look like.
