St Leonard’s Primary School in conjunction with Burnley School Sport Partnership held a KS1 Animal Olympics event, a multi-sport event focusing on improving skills of agility balance and coordination. All primary schools within Burnley and Padiham were invited to attend the year 1 & 2 event and over 700 children came along to St Leonard’s and Spirit of Sport to take part. The children who were split into animal teams, took part in events such as the snake slalom agility run, ostrich egg scramble – a rugby ball passing game and Jungle Resuce – an assault course that the children rescuing an furry animal over the course.
The events were attended by special guests ‘Bertie Bee’ and ‘Blaze’ the School Sport Partnership Mascot.
