The annual inter-schools cross country competition was held on 15th and 16th March at Towneley Park. Twenty one local schools were represented at the event which saw over 380 pupils compete.
Natlia Irvine of St John’s Cliviger won the girls race and Simon Wishaw was first back in the boys event. St John’s Cliviger took a clean sweep – winning both the girls and boy’s small school event, whilst Padiham Primary won the large schools girls team event with Casterton winning the large schools boys team event
The event was organised by the Burnley School Sport Partnership and Unity College and is one of over 15 different sporting events on the primary competitive school sport calendar. The cross country event is well supported by the schools which this year saw record numbers of children taking part.
